What is a Golden Retriever?

Hello there! Samsmum calling.
Our daughter in Canada sent me a lovely bookmark with a picture of a Golden Retriver at the top, and beneath the picture it says:
"I am a Golden Retriever. My dense, golden, water-repellent coat entices people to pet me. Not that I mind, since a am a very social, cheerful, friendly pup that loves everyone.
I especiall crave the everlasting attention given to me by little children."
How true!!
