Happy New Year, was everyone's dog ok with the fireworks

Post by Cobi and Ginnies Mum »

Happy New Year to all..... was everyone's dog ok last night with the fireworks? I had been trying valerian with Ginnie for the last 2 years, as she goes to pieces, even though we pretend that nothing untoward is going on... have music in every room etc., Had varied success with it but found it worked better if I started using it a couple of days before the fireworks, (had already tried the DAP and various other things including valium which I hate) Our vet sells valerian and skullcap, so I decided to try it for New Year, I bought it from another supplier as the vets price was twice the price. I only gave them 3/4 of the recommended dose, at 3pm in their usual dinner, small bit of mashed potato to 'wrap' them in, they were still playfighting at 10pm last night, so it doesn't zonk them out at all. They both settled down and had a much better nights sleep than we did...

Happy new year everyone. Holly does not mind the fireworks, she barks at rockets but that is all. She had a great time with all the visitors and partied till very late, still wanted to go out too early today though :( .
