Another eventful day in the Robinson household. You all know of Tessa's escapades with food. Well last week I took a dog to the vets and then brought him home for a bath. Only young 7 years old. young for this house anyway. Very lively and into everything. He got the bird fat balls off the worktop in the utility room and ate one. The bag was on the floor so picked it up and never thought any more about it but did tell his new owner what he had done and to keep his eye on things.
Tessa meanwhile has a slight upset tummy never thought anymore about that. Then she was sick a few times a few days later. Stsrting to worry a bit . Then yesterday she didn't want her breakfast so panic I then thought about the fat balls and wondererd if she had got to them. Bet she egged him on I thought.
Off to the vets " Ithink she has a blockage says me and tells the tale. X-rays says there seems to be a shadow just outside her stomach so whatever it is is moving down. What do we do. Well operate says me.
2 hours later I get the call. " We have opened her up and the shadow was a sort of kink. and we have examined everthing and no blockage.
So poor old Tessa has got a zip all ther way along her tummy. She is very sad today but getting better and is still wandering outside to sit under the bird table to catch any bits that may come her way.
If she wasn't such a gannet I would never have thought what I did. It would never cross my mind if Bonnie was ill that she had eaten something not right.
All part of life's rich pattern when you live with Goldens or any dog for that matter. Wouldn't have it any other way.
TESSA

Oh poor Tessa - I hope she is soon on the road to recovery and is getting lots of fuss and attention. We would have done the exactly the same thing as well.
We are the same with the dogs - have the vets number on speed dial, own parking space outside the vets, invite to their xmas party.
I know we get the dogs to the vets quicker than we go to the doctors (and nothing to do with trying to get a docs appointment
)
