Harvey update

Post by julia »

We are so lucky that Harvey has settled so easily. He is cheeky and smiley in the way that Goldies smile. He went through a phase of waking us in the early hours wanting to play, but now comes upstairs when the alarm clock sounds :thumbleft He looks very like Jasper who we lost 2 years ago. He is still in a chewing stage so we make sure everywhere is clear before we go to bed or if we leave him alone. He has plenty of kongs and toys and loves his cuddlies, I get the cuddlies from the charity shop so they can be replaced when he rips them apart (£7 at pets at home or 70p in the YMCA shop). We prod the toys filling and check which have sewn eyes rather than plastic etc. The staff must wonder what sort of child we are buying for.
We knew that he had grown and his coat was getting longer, but it's not too noticeable when we see him every day. My friend visited last night and she was amazed at the change in him.
We are having a week in a cottage in Windermere at Easter. We will have to make several journey breaks as he has been a bit travel sick at times, but i have some herbal remedy drops for him. I hope the change of 'home' doesn't bother him. He won't be left on his own of course so hopefully he wil enjoy it.

Hope Harvey enjoys his first holiday... Windermere is lovely and not too far to Ambleside, Coniston and my favourite Keswick. Not sure about Windermere but Keswick is very dog friendly with most of the pubs and shops letting dogs in. There are some nice walks near Coniston, we went a couple of weeks ago. 7 weeks tomorrow til Harvey's (our Harvey) holiday in Scotland... we are obviously going with him. What herbal drops did you get? Harvey does not get physically sick in the car but he really is not keen. We will be stopping at Carlisle's Bitts Park en-route. Enjoy!! :thumbleft

Good to hear Harvey has settled well. I'm sure he will love his walks in the lake district. Look forward to the photos :2035:

Have a lovely holiday all of you. Sure Harvey will enjoy his walks in the Lakes. We too are heading up that way for the Easter break, Meathop Fell with the van. Just love Coniston, some lovely walks there, the old railway line is a favourite of ours, walk from Torver into the village, then down to the lake with a coffee stop enroute. Oooh, that's got me going.

They do seem to grow so fast when they are young. But as you say other people notice more than you. I am so pleased everything is O K Thanks for the update. :love5
