another sad day

Post by janrobinson »

Sadly I had to say goodbye to dear old Duke yesterday. Such a grand old man, never a cross word to anyone just went along at his own pace and did his own thing. I have only had him 3 years and he was apoorly old man when he came. Kept in a garage.Elbows bleeding. About 3 stone overweight as he hadnever been walked. He couldn't stand up. He didn't know what a walk was and he had to be on a lead all the time as if I took it off he just stood there not knowing what to do. He also had testicular cancer which I had rmoved as soon as he came to me.

He improved from then on and had some lovely walks and I hope a lovely life. It is never long enough because you always wish you had had them sooner and that they shouldn't have gone through those unhappy years.

Lucy and I are bereft at the moment.

Jan we send you all our love at another sad time for you. Duke was loved for the last few years of his life, I have said before you really are a saint, I could not go through the pain you go through so many times. You have made our lives so much richer, and we can never thank you enough. we are all thinking of tonight and every night, god bless you Jan :love2

Jan I am so sorry that you have lost your beloved Duke. He will forever be in your heart. It makes me so mad that people can be so cruel, whether intentional or not, but Duke was finally blessed to be taken in by you. Be comforted that his time with you was the best and happiest.

So very sorry Jan sending you all my love.Duke was such very lucky boy to have been chosen by you Jan.You did such an amazing job giving him a long and happy life with you.Have been thinking about you so much.I have found each one takes a piece of your heart with them and it does take a long time to come to terms with the loss. From the bottom of my heart i hope your sadness can be healed by Lucy and be comforted to know that we are all here for you at this difficult time.
