We also lost our Oliver just two months ago and all our feelings are so sad in these initial days.
I hoped for a rainbow today when the sun came out after the rain so I could look up and feel Olly is still with me. If it is of any help, I used a lovely photo of Olly as wallpaper for my computer and I look at his lovely face so many times every day. I still see his huge nose and beautiful brown eyes looking right at me and to me it is of some comfort.
We will all find a comfort in our memories, just as you will too with Willow.
Sending my condolences, understanding and assurance that the sadness will get easier, when it is right for you.
Thankyou so much,
Ian and i are amazed at how many lovely kind people have supported us through this sad time, i think retreiver owners are like their dogs, Genuine Caring Kind and thoughtful Thankyou
Jill

This verse was sent to us when we lost Timber, by the man that helped us find Jan and rescue.
These few words are so helpful, even when the days are dark.
Perhaps, some day the sun will shine
and I shall see the sky is blue.
And life is not in vain,
although bereft of you.

So very sorry for your loss of Will ,Elaine and Ian.I lost my Sam in the spring and thought i would never get over him.I think about him every day.How when i opened my arms to him he used to run into them with his silly laughing run so pleased to be loved.Sam was a big daft lad too.I hope that in time you can give your love to another Golden. What lovely photos, such a beautiful boy.Things have got easier thanks to Ellie 12 and our new boy from Jan,Monty 1.They are such wonderful friends and companions aren't they.It doesn't seem fair not to have them longer. My heart goes out to you all at this difficult time.
with love Diane,Andy,Ellie & Monty

I'm so sad for your loss and as with so many others here, we do know how you feel. It is six years since I lost my last dog, but I still look at each of their pictures every night and go through their bedtime ritual in my mind, but it does ease, as long as you know you'll see them again. I just remember they are happy and healthy wherever they are and corny as it might sound, it does help. Remember them as they were before they took ill, and be happy. My thoughts are with you, all the best - Sue

Sorry for your loss goldens are so special, hope this helps you...
We have a secret, you and I
that no one else shall know,
for who but I can see you lie
each night in fire glow?
And who but I can reach my hand
before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you
and touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths
and see ahead of me,
your small form racing with the wind
so young again, and free.
And only I can see you swim
in every brook I pass
and when I call, no one but I
can see the bending grass.
