Ah Diane, what a very sad outcome to the day, I am so very sorry for you all. I'm sure that Ellie will have had a wonderful life with you and her lovely companions, and as we have all said.... with your last act of kindness , she is now at peace.

You are all in our thoughts, Jean, Ray and Ella x

Thank you Jean Ray & Ella.Yes Ellie lived with many of our dogs.Holly,Bosun,Sam & now Monty.Unfortunately we had a vet who we weren't very familiar with.Inexperienced and a ditherer was bit of an ordeal.Kept asking the nurse what to do and was a bit inappropriate in asking about what we wanted to do with her ashes before instead of after.Just wanted it over with. She has been with the vets a few years but still doesn't have much confidence. But we knew in our hearts what to do for Ellie. The nurse Nicki we knew well though and really understood us and had known Ellie a long time. She will be picking the crumbs up in heaven now.
We will miss her so very much a real angel. They can teach us so much can't they.About how to live our lives well.
love Diane

Hello Diane,
So very sorry to hear of Ellie's passing. I know she will have had a wonderful life with you and your other beloved goldens, and you have done everything you can for her. She is at peace now, and I'm sure she has left you many wonderful memories.
Thinking of you and sending you warm hugs.

Hope this helps Diane, was posted on here by a friend when we lost our Timber. Such lovely words.

Perhaps, some day the sun will shine
and I shall see the sky is blue.
And life is not in vain,
although bereft of you.

Thank you so much Joyce.Really appreciate your kind words.
It seems to get harder really.Ellie was such a gentle soul. But we couldn't see her suffer and made the hardest decision we will ever make.

For you Diane.

We Have A Secret

We have a secret, you and I
that no one else shall know,
for who but I can see you lie
each night in fire glow?
And who but I can reach my hand
before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you
and touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths
and see ahead of me,
your small form racing with the wind
so young again, and free.
And only I can see you swim
in every brook I pass
and when I call, no one but I
can see the bending grass.

That is so lovely, and so true, but I'm afraid it brought the tissues out. So many people seem to have lost their goldens in recent times, and I rally do feel for them all, and also for the remaining dogs, who must wonder what has happened when their pal has gone.
Best wishes - Samsmum.(Joyce).

If I could only tell you
I haven’t really gone
I shall be there always
playing in the sun

Do not cry or mourn me
because I'm by your side
Through life's darkest moments
now your tears you’ve dried

We sailed life’s stream together
Had so much fun too
Tell me what would I have done
If I hadn’t lived with you

Please oh please don’t mourn me
I’ll love you till the end
Then I’ll meet you all in Heaven
Not goodbye! --- your dearest friend xx

God bless, sending you hugs and kisses at this sad time
Karina, Dave and Harvey

Sorry for my absence have not felt like talking much.
But we are all getting there.Monty has actually just
calmed down i think, he will be 3 in a few months. He
will love our holiday in March. He brings me presents every
morning when he comes back to bed with me.
This morning it was a shoe on the head-ouch!We curl up
together and i swear if i didn't make the move to get up
he would stay all day!He is such a couch potato!
love to you all with heartfelt thanks
Diane & Monty
