Poppy= thank you Jan

Post by julia »

Jan rang me earler in the week and told me about a dog that we may be right for. We went to meet Poppy today and she is gorgeous. She is now at home with us and so far so good, early days of course. She has been for a walk in the conservation area just opposite our home and met a couple of other dogs with no problems.
Right now she is lying on my feet and snoring. She loves cuddly toys and is a typical retreiver - brings but won't part with.
She was panting a lot but this has stopped, except for after her walk - but she is a bit tubby. She loved the garden but had to be restrained from eating the bird food.
Grandma has visited and can't wait to come look after her. She brought her a ball for a present which Poppy immediately chewed to oblivion and I had to remove it from her mouth.
Please keep fingers crossed that it all works out. My husband is in love with another woman, and her name is Poppy.

What another lovely story on here, lots of congratulations Julia, as someone who has been through a recent similar experience, I wish you all the same happiness our Phoebe has brought us.

Poppy as well, as another Mum of a Poppy, I hope she behaves as well as ours.

Cant wait to see some pics. :love3

Hello
'm not sure about how the posting works, should i start a new post or just update this one.
Poppy and her new family are doing well so far. She loves lying in the garden. She barks at the birds on the feeding tables, but eventually they will look down with disdain and carry on eating, (they did with Jasper)
She slept right through last night, no problems - I left a child night light on for her.
She knows to go to the patio door when she needs to go out to toilet. If there are a few of us in the living room she moves between us to lie on our feet, i think she doesn't want to make one of us feel jealous by missing us out. :love5
She really is contented.
i have taken lots of photos, but she isn't a supermodel cos she won't keep still.
