The Snow

Hope you are all safe and well after the heavy snow.
We had the most wonderful walk this morning along the canal.
The dogs had a super time, running and sniffing. It was so
beautiful, but also quite treacherous on the roads. Poor drivers
that had to brave the conditions. David had early start, 6.00 am
so was worried about the roads which were very bad here at that
time.
Managed to take some photos, so will put one on later, (that's if
my efforts are worth seeing)

We didn't have too much snow just a covering but Tessa thought it was wonderful as her poor arthritic feet find the pavement really uncomfortable and the snow softened it.. It's only a short walk to the fields but it must seem miles to her. Pity she is too big for me to carry. May have to get a pushchair. Look foward to your pictures.

We just had a skittering of snow yesterday but none now, thankfully the lawn is frozen solid,(we have a new one every 12-18months, because my two little tinkers kill it off one way or another) Cobi raced around like a greyhound then Ginnie thought she'd join in, I just let them get on with it and shut the door....no mud this time.

Had a visit from Holly's Mum and Dad (Staffordshire Holly) Sunday afternoon to collect 2 calendars, Holly is lovely, very tall, slightly taller than Ginnie, similar colour to Cobi, but not quite as dark, got some photographs, not that many because most of them were blurred, with Cobi being a 'fraidy cat' standing on the top of the stairs.

Poor Tessa it's horrid when your feet hurt, someone should design some Paddington Bear boots for dogs. Did you have to remove little snow balls from her paws and feathers Jan ?

Not enough snow for that. You do like these reindeers in the snow don't you.

Yes it's my favourite one.... it's the indignant expression on the reindeers face when the snowball clouts him in the back of the neck it reminds me of the indignant look that Abby used to have and Cobi now has when they frown and turn their back on you and sulk after being told off.

Like Jan not much snow here but took my two this morning to the fields and both loved it, its Paddys birthday today and he loved digging up molehils and rolling in the snow....bliss!...

The beach photos were grand, brought back memories of summer. Minus the snow!!!

Molly enjoyed the snow a jolly sight more than I did! She was so excited she was close to pulling me over on the icy bits. The only thing she misses at the moment is the relative lack of doggy company on walks. For some odd reason people don't think it's a great idea to walk along the beach for an hour when there's an arctic blizzard coming in off the sea. This results in Molly having less friends for shorter spurts than usual. Most unsatisfactory.

But she LOVED the snowballs I threw for her to fetch because she did all the chasing she loves but didn't have to bring anything back - which she REFUSES to do EVER - so all was well in the end.

Those pictures of Scarborough were taken from my front garden. I think I might be the luckiest girl in the world.

Yes Molly is very beautiful She has come on leaps and bounds. The pictures of Scarborough are quite mystical,

You'll never guess what she did today.

We went for a long run with Alfie the black labrador. almost 2 hours bounding around on the beach....swimming in the sea (brrrr!)....breaking the ice to wallow in puddles.....digging in sand and generally having freezing fun.

Then Molly decided she would like to go home now so she took herself off to the cliff lift, snuck under the barrier and waited in the lift until it went up. I was frantic. Until finally there was a phone call from the top of the lift asking if anyone at the bottom was looking for a wet goldie - who was waiting patiently at the top!

How embarassing. They actually put her back in the lift and ran it back down especially for her. And they didn't even charge her for the ride.

At least she knows her way home.

What a clever girl Mollie is to use the lift by herself They are lovely pictures of Scarborough - no snow here although when we took Ben swimming in Preston last night it looked like they had had a tiny bit.
