new dog at home....Dillon

Post by oscar12 »

our lad's owners had to go abroad for work and did not want the 1 or 2 months quarantine for him. He arrived Saturday evening, great how well hes settled, good with children and other dogs, gets on well with our bitch Bonnie and is everything you want in a golden retriever...intelligent, obedient, happy, great temperament, and hes handsome too.
His name was foreign and unpronounceable so he is now Dillon , Irish to match my family and which is suitable as it means loyal and faithful.
I am not good yet at putting photos from my camera on the computer so have tried to send links to photos sent to me from his previous owners last week. hope you can open them.
I will look in on this site to see how things are going.
Bye and good luck to all .
Danielle, Liverpool

He looks lovely, is the name Dillon from the magic roundabout, or Bob Dillon, both spaced out if you know what I mean :1941:

hello again,
Dillon had a Chinese name Luo Tuo which means camel or white horse....apparently the camel is a symbol of strength. His owners advised people to give his name an English pronunciation...hence Lotto.
Dillon was on a list of Irish surnames, and as we are of Irish heritage we decided we would go with an Irish name.. I was unaware of a magic roundabout character. The meaning is loyal and faithful so as they are typical dog and especially retriever characteristics we decided on that.
Thanks for your good wishes,
Danielle

p.s. he has had a long walk and is lying at my feet, flaked out and snoring ! hes settled so well, its great to have him here with our other dog.

hello kyliew,
yes and how great there are 2 rescue dogs so close to one another. i saw how lovely and wavy bepos coat has grown isnt he lovely. getting our newcomer used to the area and will let him off his lead to do run and fetch next week.
the photo of bepo is really nice, hes a good boy isnt he....i got a half-check lead like yours and he walks very well with it, was good anyway but there was the occasional tug, usually if he smelt anything interesting. i read that dogs can scent things 15 miles away........
look forward to seeing more of bepo, photos on here and with you at school
Danielle
