Just seen the pictures. Had a wonderful holiday. The weather stayed nice for us, 4 really warm days. The dogs had a super time. In the river on Bodmin Moor, near to where we stayed. Never seen water like it, it literally sparkled. Also, down on Padstow beach, you could walk forever on the sand at low tide, and there was a channel for the dogs to swim in.Can't wait to go again, despite that awful motorway drive. Never seen so many Goldens on holiday, everywhere we went we made friends. Padstow must have been hosting the annual Golden Retriever Convention!!! It was great What was so nice, the number of people that just wanted to stop and give them both a love, they lapped it up. David says that if we had a pound for every "ooh you're gorgeous", it would have paid for the holiday
Mind, we could also have sold them 10 times over...Sorry Jan, only jesting
Met one lady a couple of times in Padstow, that had lost her Golden boy 3 years ago, couldn't bring herself to get another yet. But loved going to the town because there are always a lot of Goldies there to fuss over. She cried when we said Willow was "adopted", most people were shocked to hear about Rescue, couldn't believe that there were so many out there.
Another lady that had a beautiful interiors shop came dashing out to see them both, she had lost her boy a year ago. So, not only did the dogs have a good time, they also made some sad people smile again.

Hi 'The Grumpy's'
Lovely pictures, and that place looks wonderful. We have been down to that area, but it's a long time ago now. And yes, people do go out of their way to stop and talk, and very polite too, " Can I stroke or talk to your dog?"We were in the Lake District at the weekend, in a cafe, talking to an elderly couple who had had Golden's in their lives, and were sad that now they felt that they couldn't cope with another one. I hope that's a long way ahead for us.
If a Golden can't make you smile, what can?
Jean

Our two always cause a commotion too we were in Keswick the other week walking down the main street looking in a shop window and the chap came out and said "come on in" I let children in so you can bring your dogs in" they then were fussed, Paddy decided to smell a ladies shopping basket to see if he could find anything nice, I told him off and the lady looked round and started to laugh then made a fuss of him, so he loved that.
Goldens always make people smile though dont they.?
