Swimming, puddles and mud!

Post by julie »

Here are some pictures of Honey in the water and enjoying her walks - they're a bit smudgy as they're from the phone camera. She had a great swim on sunday; drew quite an audience of admirers.

Wherever we walk a stick must be found. This is the one that she really wanted to take home!
Image

I got the picture just before she rolled in this puddle - the biggest she could find! That cheeky grin - she knew exactly what to do!
Image

And once she's wet, a mud bank has got to be found to lie on! If she's wet, she may as well be muddy!

At the beach on holiday...with hair gone crinkly!

All tired out - had a sea swim, played ball, dug a hole ... time for a nap! Such a busy day!

Fabulous pictures. Other half really rates the quality of them as they were done with a mobile. He'll want a new phone next!!
Dog looks like she was having a great time.Doesn't it make you fill up when they've started on such a raw deal. No doubt one very proud mum. Justifiably so.

Lovely photographs of Honey enjoying herself, the one of her on the sand is the spitting image of our Ginnie when she is wet.

A word of caution. I noticed there was a swan in the background on one of the pictures. Last year I heard of a Springer that was attacked and drowned by a swan whilst swimmimg. As it is the time of year that they are staking claims on terrotory, do be careful. I know to my cost that they can be really short tempered in spring and again when they get their cygnets. Its all out war on our stretch of canal.! Many's the time I've got within striking distance of home, only to be confronted by the cob struttng his stuff on the tow path, having to double back on myself to get away :D Cheeky beggar, I buy special swan food to take for them in winter, and that's how they repay me, no accounting for it, is there :D

Hi Lynn,

I know what you mean about swans and temper; I make Honey return to the bank as soon as they start approaching. Thankfully she's obedient and comes immediately - I think she remembers them swimming towards the bank and hissing at us.

We even have one that deliberately comes and stands in the middle of the path, hissing at us and completely blocking the way so we have to find an alternative route.

I've never heard of them drowning a dog, we'll be extra careful. Thanks for the warning.
