So, I won't be offended, tell me when you've seen enough photos of Bentley because I could go on and on and on and on...................

Hi Lesley!
Please keep the pictures coming - they make my day. There is nothing more cheering than a picture of a lovely Golden.
Hope you are all well.
Best wishes - Samsmum (Joyce).

I set myself a challenge to see if I could get him home from a walk without having to wash his legs and tummy down. :1960

FAIL!

There are just so many deliciously muddy ditches round here :1968

I won't tire of seeing Bentley, clean or dirty..... :love4 he is a little beauty.

Lesley, I try every time to get Cobi back reasonably clean, don't mind muddy puddles or general grubbiness but she is consistently persistant at rolling in anything nasty..... she didn't start doing this until she was 2ish, she will be 8 in June !!!!!
So may I suggest when he learns what 'fox ssshhh' is you might like to try 'pethead' or 'furminator ' waterless shampoo if you have to put him in the car for the journey home, then tomato ketchup is great for removing the 'eau de Reynard' as my Hubby calls it.

Brilliant advice, Lynn, thanks. He has already developed a taste for sheep and rabbit poo. No one warned me about that!!! He hasn't taken to rolling in it yet though, can't wait for that one. :1942:

Lynda is a dab hand at dealing with fox poo on Cobi. I think the idea is to use the ketchup like a shampoo, it neutralises the pong. Believe me, if you haven't smelled eau de fox you haven't lived with a Goldie. It's rank. :2007:

Tomato ketchup it is then. I might have to fight the hubby for it - or maybe not if he gets a whiff of the 'foxy' dog

Cleaning Harvey after a 'roll in something stinky' is a Dave job in our house... either when he's tied to the fence (yep - that's the only way!) or in the bath - I run in heroically afterwards saying how mean Daddy was and drying him off (he likes it when I dress him up like Yoda and give him a towel dry)!

Keep the piccies coming - he's adorable
