Retriever Rescue

Has anyone got room for a 13 years old female. who acts like a 6 year old. The owner will pay all bills, food & vets. Just wants someone to give her more attention as she is out at work all day and the little girl does not like going out in the dark. And who can blame her, no fun in that.

Well good news for the old girl. She is in her new home now.

Her previous owners had said that they would pay any vets bills but have renaged on that one as they " want to make a clean break" in my tactful way I did point out that they were divorcing their responsibilities but there you go.

Anyway she will have lots of attention now and her walks will be in the daylight. If there are any major bills I am sure we will cope.

Good news on this one Jan, shame about the owners..maybe she will be better off now, dont people realise that a dog is for LIFE this is what makes them so special...

How can anyone give up a dog that has been part of the family for so long, I would be heartbroken . There are no excuses ,apart from ill health that I can think of that would ever make me part with mine and that would be so they can have a more forfilling life, not for my benifit. Hope the rest of her days are spent with someone who really loves her.

So pleased she has found a good home. She will have a much better life.
Parting with an old faithful must be difficult but one feels a donation to future cost might have been appropriate. I am sure we would all help if there is something major.

I am so glad you have found a deserving home for her, i hope she will be very happy. A little naughty that they went back on thier word regarding finanicail help.

We organise our working life around our dogs (whoops dog) like you would if you had children, after all they are like children

I am upset to think that anyone could give up a dog that had been with their family for so long, and to then renege on paying for vets fees - well I think we are all of the same opinion on that one.

Pleased the old Lady is now with someone who will take care of her in her twilight years.
Beyond me how they could possibly let an old friend go like that. She really must have wondered what was happening to her.
