On Sunday evening I received a phone call from a woman who said she had bought a five year old dog for £20 and he was very boisterous and was knocking the children over and she would like a calmer one. Had I got a nice calm little bitch she could then swap for this dog. Take a moment to envisage me at the other end of the phone.

Anyway I did keep calm and said that I would take the dog if she wanted him out of the way and maybe if one came in that I thought may suit her I would get in touch ( NOT) However she was agitated and didn't want me to have him. So I had to leave it.
Then I find out that she has advertised him on an internet web site wanting £200 for this dog that she intimates has been a family pet all his life with them. She wants to sell him to buy Christmas presents with the money.
I just thought I would add that she was from St Helens. It might identify her. She had only had the dog a week

Thats very sad, but unfortunately reflects the mentality of some people...until people have to be vetted to own a pet this will never change...I hope he gets a good family for Christmas...OR she sees sense and gives him up.

THINK, THINK AND THINK AGAIN BEFORE YOU GET A DOG OR ANY ANIMAL FOR CHRISTMAS, this is for anyone not connected to this website, IT IS INTENDED FOR SOMEONE who is browsing for an animal for a present, ANIMALS ARE NOT TOYS, AND CANNOT BE DISCARDED WHEN THE BATTERIES RUN OUT... OR MORE FOOD OR A VET BILL ARRIVES, NEITHER CAN THEY BE SOLD LIKE AN UNWANTED GAME ON EBAY...
Jan you are a much better and calmer person than I could possibly have been under the above mentioned circumstances.
WORDS FAIL ME FOR THE SOCIETY WE NOW LIVE IN, ME ME ME, ALL ME,WHY DO PEOPLE WANT THE NEWEST TOY OR COMPUTER GAME..... I COULD GO ON... AND ON... BUT THANKFULLY MY TWO DOGS NEED A WALK AND SO DO WE.
JAN, I DO NOT KNOW HOW YOU MANAGE TO DO THIS JOB, WHEN YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH A MINDLESS SELFISH IDIOT LIKE THIS, WHAT CHANCE HAVE THIS FAMILY GOT OF BEING GOOD DECENT HUMAN BEINGS TOWARDS EACH OTHER IF THEY CANNOT RESPECT THE LIFE OF A ANIMAL.

				Is that you shouting, Lynda.
Hopefully that poor dog has a good home now. I didn't want to say before as it may have jeopardized our chances if she had seen it but we did have a lady who rang up for us and offered to go and get the dog A.S.A.P. that was 9 at night we had the kennels on standby and all was in place but the woman said she had two before us so perhaps she was picking the best or it may have been first come first served. In cases like this we would have offered something but certainly not the 200 she wanted.
Thanks for all your concern. This is just the tip of the iceberg unfortunately.

We could not agree more with Lynda's comments. Its disgusting.
What a terrible story. How you keep so calm in these situations Jan is an inspiration to us all.
We all know how stressful it can be for dogs to loose their home.
Lets hope he has found a forever home.
