A Search for Solo

Dogs barking, big fluffy and small
Through every rescue centre we did trawl,
Our request was to specific and difficult to meet
Child friendly,needing love waggy tail and 4 feet
About to abandon all hope we decided to surf the net
Retriever rescue.net there may be someone for us yet
We talked to Jan on the phone
Did she have anyone desperate for a loving home
Yes she said she thought she might
Down to Chorley with fingers crossed tight
Nervously wagging from the kennel you made your debut
A golden vision we knew we could love you
Coat of champagne bubbles ears like fuzzy felt
and those soulful brown eyes made our hearts melt
We took you home ,groomed ,cuddled and started to bond
Now a happy dog we're already so fond
He loves to splash in puddles,play and have fun
One of the family, part of the furniture for years to come
All thanks to Jan who goes the extra mile
lots of hugs and Solo wags for making our house smile
