Hi there, just wanted to let everyone know that Rocky has settled in well. We adopted him in November last year and it feels like he's always been with us.

We go to dog training classes as he was very unsettled when we met dogs whilst out walking and this has worked great for both myself and Rocky. We've just got our Foundation award. He's a bit like the Grandad in the class and regularly provides a laugh when he goes to sleep and starts snoring. Very often when we do the down stay command I cant get him up again. He turns into a puppy though when it comes to retrieving, well he is a retriever!

His snoring and deep breathing when asleep is a problem as when we work from home, he lies at our feet asleep and the rthymn of his breathing is very relaxing making us want to go to sleep. I am regularly questioned as to whats that noise when I am on the phone.

My daughter recently asked me was a glad I had adopted a dog, I cant imagine the house without him now. How boring life would be if your slippers and shoes were where you left them!

Lovely to hear from you Helen. and to read all about how Rocky is progressing. He has obviously settled in well and I can't believe it is 5 months since he came into your life. Thank you so much for the update and look forward to more news and maybe pictures in the near future.

Hi Helen, and welcome to the site.

Rocky sounds lovely. Is he an older "young man"?

And like you, I don't think a house is a home without them. They are always there to welcome you no matter what. They just lift your spirits.

Looking forward to some photo's :D

Hi Helen, nice to hear from you, seems like you have the retriever bug already, pretty soon you will wonder how you went though your life without one. I lost my first one at the end of january and in less than a week the house felt so empty and lonely, then through jan we got Lucy the world became normal again cant imagine life without one ever again. Retriver to the rescue so to speak :o
