I would like to add that Lucy and Alfie's toys hit the washing machine at least once a week. We have a running battle with inside and outside toys. Lucy likes to take them all out but is not very good at bringing them back hence they get rather muddy. Alfie just loves having a toy, we guess he did not have many before we got him as he has only recently learnt how to play properly too. Lucy always has to have a toy in her mouth when she greets us and likes to lie with a soft toy too! She is really photogenic and defnitely poses for us

no they are not always that clean. They usually end up with a paw wash more or less every day as Alfie is drawn to mud like most goldens. Lucy however does not like getting her paws wet never mind muddy.
As regards the toys that one was new at the time the picture was taken. I have a weekly sewing session which we named Animal Hospital as Lucy likes to play tug of war with the toys so they usually get separated about the neck or arm at some stage. Gave up buying expensive pet toys and now buy at car boot sales for 10 or 20p a time. (thoroughly vetted first for safety though) these actually seem to last longer than the pet ones . I will try and post a picture of my washing line too as all toys are regularly in the washer as Lucy takes them in the garden. SO we have ducks, sheep, teddys rabbits all on the line
