Hi There all, a few pics to share with you from our weekend in the lakes.

Both absolutley lovely; i can't believe how much he's grown. How old is he now?

Can someone tell how old are goldies when they reach adult size?

Thank you for sharing your holiday photos of Jessie and Bailey.. my two are jealous as they haven't been away yet this year.... they have another 6 days to wait and then they will be rewarded.

Regarding goldens reaching adulthood, is that body or mind?
Body from my memory it's 18months to 2ish and in the mind... NEVER...!!

It's 3pm and Cobi has told me it is 3pm, she is now informing that she requires food as she can't remember her breakfast. She is now 'yowkin' at me, feed me, feed me now.

These pictures are lovely, and hasn't Bailey grown! You can see how much his coat has thickened too. Jessie seems to be doing a good job keeping him in tow . I think we are so priveliged to have our dogs, to be able to watch them thrive and grow like this, it's no more than they deserve and we gain so much too.

When we had our first goldie, Leigh, we were told adulthood was around 4 1/2 to 5 yrs

What a little cracker, he,s grown such a lot. Good to see them so happy.

About age.....Usually pull in front...when they start lagging behind means they've grown up!!!!!!! At least that's Davids' theory.

I would say puppies for ever! but have to admit my Paddys head has just matured and he is 5yrs...

To answer the question about growth. A golden usually reaches it's adult height between 9 months and 13 months. After that it will take another two to 3 years to fill out in body. As far as it's brain goes it will never grow up. SO don't hold your breath.

In answer to your question as to how old Bailey is now, the vet thought he was about 16 weeks old when they found him so we think he must be about 22 weeks now.

Bailey looks such a character, and he's having a whale of a time with you and Jessie...lovely pictures.

I just had to relate this story to you. I was walking my first golden at a horse show (this is about 25 years ago now) when a very nice gentleman came up to me and asked how old she was? I told him that she was 2 years old and he said "Oh, the brown paper bag hasn't arrived yet then". I, of course, didn't understand what he meant. He told me that a brown paper bag would arrive in the post when she was about 6 or 7 years old containing her brains. They would hang around for about 18 months and then be posted off to the next one. I can't say if this is true or not, because none of ours (we're on our 6th now) ever seem to have any grown up brains or if they do, they only hang around for about a year and anyway, what is grown up to a golden? I've found they become sensible around 6 years old and then quickly begin to regress, so you never really have a sensible dog at all!!

For me I love it when they get excited about something our Amber just bounces up and down like Tigger...or like a puppy...makes them so much more endearing...
