The grubby little tinkers had a dip in one of the marlpools, and they came out beautifully clean, instead of being 'steggy, peaty quaggy boggy doggies' (which is what I used to call our Ceili)

Just got back from our walk, Cobi thought she was going to drop her body in a mud puddle, until I shouted at her (sorry Jan I know your'e not supposed to shout at them) but you see what I'm up against with these dirty pair

I forgive you, I have done my share of shouting as they slithered into a bog. Barney was the worst he used to go head first and then roll over on his back. He was always muddier on his top half !!!!! strange to see really. He did that up till he was fourteen.

Yeah you are right David Jan's dogs are proper dogs, we were caravanning down at Malvern and a woman had 4 goldens,(very pale ones) totally untrained, one jumped through the window of her car and nearly hung itself by its lead, and god forbid if they got their paws grubby, as every day some of them went off to a dog show, and the other dogs were left in the caravan for upto 8 yes 8 hours. Just outside there is a commom full of cowpats and sheep s*** and I felt like saying 'Go on let them roll in some'!!!

Seeing as Jan LOVES muddy dogs why don't we have an alternative 2009 calendar of DIRTY, MUDDY GOLDENS and also the clean versions?
There was a lovely photo of two in the pet gallery William and a friend?

Carolyn, our Abigal was a mud magnet because she was so low to the ground!!

Thats what you call wallowing!!

Must be good for them as they all look so well on it don't they?

I think they must like the smell of it myself...a muddy calender is a great idea...

by Lucy & Alfie's Mum
let me know if you want a muddy dog picture. Alfie loves the mud and there is one small part on the field near us which is always wet and muddy even when it has not rained. He makes straight for it and has a lovely time. He always looks pleased with himself when he comes out. Went for a run yesterday afternoon and Alfie got covered in mud again as he runs through it without any hesitation and we had a lot of rain here yesterday. Lucy however steps daintily round puddles and mud . She simply does not like getting her feet wet and certainly not muddy. It is very funny at the seaside as when the waves comes towards her she runs away. Alfie on the other hand is straight in and off swimming On a long lead I hastened to add as he powers of hearing seem to vanish when he is enjoying himself.

can I have some muddy photos of them please
