Isn't she lovely, what a lovely photograph, she certainly knows how to pose for the camera, on the first photo, it looks like she has a wrinkle down her nose like our Abigail had, and you can't help noticing what big paws she has.

Oh what a gorgous girl she is Lenny. She looks in beautiful condition too, and looks to be so "at home " with you. I'm sure Sunny would approve. Lucy will have a wonderful life with you all.
Thank you for the pics, we all love pics on here

Lucy is small and stocky a bit like me really her legs are very sturdy much more rounded than sunnys, the suite was new a year or so ago and sunny was not allowed on as his paws would scrach the leather, but as he was old he didnt try to get on much , that is untill the wife was out , dont tell her that
But as the suite is older now and lucy went to sleep on it the first night ,we just put a throw over on for her, she has made the settee her own and sits in front of it to let us know when its her turn to use it. Luckily we have 2 settees other wise Im sure we would be sat on the floor. Dont know what will happen if we decide to get another dog, maybe divorce the wife

Took Lucy to the seaside today, silly me forgot the camera . The weather was not good windy cold and raining Lucy loved it playing in the sand dunes and running on the beach I am sure she has done this before she was so at home loving every second. Sorry to say we did not stop as long as we would have liked because of the weather , but am sure that this will be repeated, soon this time with camera, as I could have got some nice pics of a wet and sandy dog and a wet and cold owner, but both happy with the enjoyment she got from our first trip to the seaside

She has become a special part in our family in record time, She has not replaced sunny but took over the gap in our hearts, that we had when sunny left us. Maybe we needed her as much as she needed a good home. Yes I am a big softie as for as retrievers go I have been brought up with dogs all my life and have many glorious memories though the years and Im sure many more to come, reading the other comments on this web sight Im not the only one whose life has been enriched by the companyanship of one or several dogs. The storys I have read have brought tears to my eyes and made me feel I am not alone in this respect . I hope this is not to sentimental but its from the heart and we feel lucky to have the chance to give Lucy a special home for the rest of her life.

lovely photos. She looks so happy and contented. I am sure you will have many happy times to come. These retrievers do take over our hearts and homes, but I for one would not have it any other way

Lenny, your words about Sonny and Lucy really do sum up how we feel since Samson joined us.
We feel very priviledged to have him come to live with us, and just like you I think we needed him as much as he needed a home.
We really thought nothing could mend the sadness we felt whenever we thought of Ruskin but now Samson has come along and filled that big gaping hole with lots of love and fun and we can now talk about Ruskin without it hurting so much, we still miss him and no doubt on the 1st July which is the third anniversary of him leaving us we will be in pieces but the joy and pleasure we have got from Samson will make it much more bearable this year.. I only wish we had not left it so long........
Lucy has obviously made you very happy and it is lovely to see the pictures.

Can anyone explain when I take Lucy a walk she avoids all the little mud pools on the path but as soon as she see the large ones where she can jump in the deeper the better she jumps in and cakes herself in mud and water and wont come out .Will take camera next time you wont think shes the same dog :lol:By the way just noticed on second photo on left side of sofa you can make out the fuzzy image of our cat, just to show that they are getting to know each other a bit more.

She obviously doesn't want to waste her time on the small puddles, saving herself for the big finish

Hello Lenny, make sure you take your camera with you, I love seeing just how dirty they can get. My Ceili used to go round like a catherine wheel in a muddy puddle and the more you laughed at her the dirtier she got.

Since we rehomed Lucy ,have noticed how much the cost of having a dog like everything else seems to be going through the roof ,:ie: the cost of insurance vets fees, food and cost of frontline or other important items needed each year ,to make sure our dogs are protected in every way makes having a dog very expensive cost. Do not get me wrong, would willingly pay double the cost to protect my dog,but was wondering if anybody has found good deals on any particular product or web site, ect:,that they can pass on to other members of this websight.I found tesco pet insurence to be of a good standerd and price and also a website that supplied frontline flea and tick treatment and about half the cost of my vets price. If any one feels that they can pass any savings on to others this will hopefully benifit other owners on the site. Hope this does not compromise this site in any way, just helps some to save money.
