To put pics on you need to open an account with photobucket - http://www.photobucket.com

Upload your pics to your photobucket account - its free by the way - and once you have done that you copy the link to the pics into your posting - see below for a more detailed guide:

With the picture on screen - as you can see below in a screenshot of the photobucket page, select the text from within the IMG Code- Forums & Bulletin Boards box at bottom right of screen (as labelled in picture below) and paste the text into your posting where you want the picture to appear.

So - this is how the posting above looked as I was typing it and after I had pasted in the code from the picture on photobucket.

Hope this helps - if not let me know and i'll do a more step by step guide including uploading to photobucket and putting the pics into your postings

Dear Webmaster,I have tried for two and a half hours to attempt to transfer pictures of TJ to his posting from photobucket.I can not get a page on photobucket as per your example and certainly cannot change the img to correlate to the retriever website.I'm a technophobe I admit it so I will e-mail Jan with the pics and hopefully the pics will find their way to the right place.Ta,TJs parents completely frustrated and about to throw the pc out of the window.

I was exactly the same as you a couple of years ago with all things computer related.... Ian sorted me out....but he must have thought I was as thick as two short planks I couldn't get to grips with posting photos for ages and ages it was so alien to me. I'm OK at making things with photos, cards, calendars etc., I still struggle with how things work or usually why they don't.... :1958: which happens frequently.

I have a photograph of TJ sent by Jan of him lying down with a dark background and I've included it in the calendar, anymore would be appeciated.

I can't do it either. Just reading Ian's instructions now. It was as if it was in Japanese.Meant not a thing to me Wouldn't know where to start. When I email pictures to him I have to do one at a time. But the other day I sent three at once. By complete accident don't know how I did it and Ian asked if I had done it myself. Such confidence in me is overwhelming. :1960

Ive just had a look at photobucket and they appear to have changed the page layout since I did the little tutorial - I have also had a number of users on my other rescue website who have had problems with photobucket in a number of ways

A popular alternative is a site called tinypix - i will create a tutorial for that site that even Jan will understand (sorry Jan - but you are so good at other things xx)

Hi

I have managed more by luck than skill to post a few pics of my Goldies.

However, I noticed a few of the members have picture avatars and wondered how this is achieved.

Any advice would be very welcome :2029:

Thanks

Jill

I managed to upload a photo but not quite following the instructions given. I used the Photobucket site to upload a photo, then resized it so 75 x 56 (this seems the best for uploading onto the rescue website), then saved this to my computer. Once done, I was able to upload the resized version direct from my computer onto my rescue profile (through edit Avatar). Hope this helps xx :love3

Hey everyone,

Lynn has just messaged me on here saying she's struggling with getting pictures to upload, so I thought i'd try to help as best I can...

It can be a little bit of a nightmare to be honest. I'll try and explain for you the best i can...

If you head to a website like: http://xomf.com/ and click where it says "drag and drop images here"

Image

Then upload the image you want, and press the red "start uploading button"

When they've uploaded, copy the "direct link", it should end in .jpg or .png

Image

Then, head to your new post on the forum, and click the "Img" button.

Image

You then want to paste the link you just copied between the two Img brackets, so it looks something like the below:

Image

Then, you should be all done! Write your text, hit preview and check your image is coming up.

I hope this helps :)

Amy

Photobucket is now sadly not free. I’ve retrieved my own photos from the site but it only allows you a limited amount to this for free.
