Sophie in the snow
I decided to take Sophie to the woods near our house to get some winter photos this afternoon. Walking an excited Retriever in the snow is one thing when you're well wrapped up, but trying to take photos and adjust a cold camera with no gloves and freezing fingers ... while picking up cold snow covered sticks to attract her attention was no easy job
When my fingers couldn't take it any more I decided to bring her back and give her a treat, but my fingers were so cold I ripped a new bag of treats wide open and they went all over the snow ... it was a race to see who could scoop them up fastest. I soon gave up picking up handfulls of snow with no gloves on and Sophie won
Edit: Original photos replaced with this one from 22 Jan 2013 ... more from this walk now added on page 2

Re: Sophie in the snow
What did surprise me was I thought we had a white-ish coloured dog ... but she looks really brown against the snow

Well worth the effort of having cold fingers, absolutely beautiful, and she so enjoyed herself. Thanks for sharing your walk with us.

Re: Sophie in the snow
Love the photos. Sophie is having a whale of a time. They are just like children, show them a bit of snow, and they want to be out there. Ella spent ages last night just watching the flakes falling.....head moving up and down.....she looked so funny from behind

WoW great pictures Ros, thank you
Re: Sophie in the snow
One last photo. I wasn't sure whether to add this one because she looks quite scary - but she's just seen me pick up a stick and that makes her very excited

Can't you just read her mind. "wow, Mum's got a stick, whoopee."
