My hero!

So I phoned my sister today to ask her if she fancied going out for a walk with the dogs. She has a huuuuuge Alaskan malamute called Flick.
Bentley had never met Flick before today, don't know why, it just didn't happen for one reason or another.
Well, we introduced them and they got on like a house on fire. , Bentley seemed to hero worship Flick and followed him round like his shadow. I think there may be a bit of bromance going here. Flick led Bentley to all his favourite muddy ditches and showed him the best place for a paddle. I thought one dog could get messy but the two dogs together seemed to get ten times worse. I've never seen such muddy dogs. Both getting into mischief together and running round with big, happy grins on their faces.
My sister wanted a photo of the two of them together. She didn't get that but she did get a picture of an extremely dirty Bentley as I tried to get him to sit still for a moment for a photo- and my lovely clean coat just before Flick jumped all over me with his muddy great paws.
I'm not saying that Bentley is used to being photographed or anything but have you noticed how he's looking straight at the camera and not at me as I'm talking to him?

What lovely pictures - a big handsome lad, and a typically muddy Golden. Bentley is a real charmer, and you are obviously so delighted to have him. Hope you have many, many happy muddy years together.
Best wishes - Samsmum (Joyce).

Lynn: I've had to increase our walk time to an hour just t get half an hour of walking done. So many people, kids and dogs want to stop and talk to him (not me!!) that it takes us forever to get anywhere.
Joyce: Is it that obvious that I absolutely adore my boy Bentley?

This morning we actually managed a whole walk without having to have a wash down when we got home! I did have to divert his attention away from a ditch or two on the way though. Training is coming on a treat, the boy's a genius!
Thanks for your kind comments, everyone. I'm well aware that I'm hogging these message boards a bit. I'm just so proud of him!!!!

Once upon a time at Fell Foot on Windermere, some Americans rushed over to make a fuss of Jazz, they told us
that in California the pale Goldens are called Champagnes.
In relation to the references to Bentley and James Bond he must be a Dom Perignon 46, or was it Bollinger ?
A great dog may you have many happy Years with him.

Aw, Thanks Pat and Syd,
Definitely Dom Perignon
He's got a lot to live up to if he's going to be as good a dog as Jazz obviously was.

Hi there!
Sorry I don't know you first name, Bentley's owner, but yes it is obvious in the picture that you adore him, and quite rightly. Please keep the pictures coming - they make my day, and I'm sure they do the same for others too.
Best wishes - Joyce.

Hi Audrey, Gordon & Louise,
I know what you mean about keeping a golden clean. How do they manage to fin the only bit of mud in a ten mile radius?!? No one warned me about that - I'm forever washing his little (ok, huge) feet. They keep changing colour; white/black/white/black/white/black
Still, the joy and laughter he brings more than makes up for it. I must look like a proper nutcase when I'm standing laughing my head of at him tearing full pelt up and down a muddy stream.
