Welcome to Harvey

Post by julia »

After Poppy died we knew we would want another dog eventually. Antonia, our daughter, and I thought sooner rather than later. I think because we were unprepared for her loss, unlike with our other dogs who were much older. Jan rang on Saturday to tell us about a nine month old boy who needed a home. She certainly didn't put any pressure on us, but Antonia and I put a bit of pressure on Alan just to go see.
When we took him for a walk at the kennels we realised we didn't know his name and I said he looks like a Harvery, when Alan went back to ask Jan his name, it was Harvey. That had to be a sign.
So Harvey is with us and he is such a treasure, a gorgeous little boy, a bit anxious of course at first, especially when any of us leave the house, even though he is not left alone. He is a ladies man, he adores Antonia. He has been well loved by ladies, and he is also well loved by the males in our household now as well.
He is settling well & has had several visitors and like all goldies knows that the whole world is there just to love him. He lets us know when he wants to go out to toilet and is eating well. He has slept well but for some reason he decided at 3o clock this morning he wanted to play. I let him out in the garden to wee and when he came back in I had to be very disciplined not to join in a game of tug. As soon as I can remind myself how to post pics I will do.
