Marley and us !

Post by janet »

A week before Christmas our world came to a tempory end ! Our beautiful 5 year old golden Jasper passed away suddenly without warning and after never having been ill. The vet thinks it was a heart attack. We were so upset and I said to my husband never again I can not go through loosing another dog ! WELL that lasted about an hour and I said "We have to get another one, I have to ring Jan !" We couldn't function without a dog around the house, every aspect of our life evolved around having a faithful golden around.
After a tearful phonecall to Jan who fully understood how I felt. Jan said she had some "boys" So on 28th December we went "to look at the boys !!"ImageImage
WE CAME HOME WITH MARLEY !!!!! Who we were told was an escape artist and a handful lad.
Marley is perfect, he has settled in fine and is soooo perfect in every way, his cheeky personality is coming out as the days go on. We have just got back from our first off lead walk and had no problems getting Marley to gome back (he knew I had the tasty treats!)
Muddy pics just for Jan (a muddy Golden is a happy Golden )

So sorry to hear of you sad loss of Jasper, to lose one so young and so unexpectedly must be very hard, i'm sure he had a good life with you. I know the emptiness in our house when we lost our first golden Sunny. We lasted about three weeks before we contacted Jan, we did not replace Sunny, we just shared our love with new needy golden. In time your pain will ease . Marley seems to be the perfect golden who needed you as much as you needed him. :2362: Jan seems to be very busy at the moment, witch is really sad, but we all love a story with a happy ending, I know who I would nominate to be in the new years honours list. :1992: :1953:

Sorry to hear of your sudden loss, that must have been so hard for you both. It is dreadful to think of one so young being taken from you.

But, welcome home Marley, another lucky Golden finding love and understanding. Feel sure that he will once again fill your lives with such joy.

:s19: to you all.

It must have been so terrible to lose a dog that young.... it's bad enough when they have had a great 'long' life with you, (dogs lives aren't long enough) but how lovely to give another golden a much deserved new home, especially before Christmas.
The photograph of Marley lying down is the 'spitting image' of a young Ginnie, who grew up to to be a big beautiful dog. She was an escape artist........ straight through the conifers at the bottom of Jan's garden..... and she was 11 or 12ish, the big 'sinful Ginful'.

Look forward to more photographs of Marley.

Janet, so pleased to hear about Marley and that he is settling in well. We will all agree with you, we don't replace our lost friend, we just find it in our hearts to love another lost soul, and isn't it so rewarding.
Talking of caravans, we went yesterday to our local dealership to book ours in for annual service. Woody must have thought he was going on holiday when he saw the vans parked up, he shouted and carried on something alarming in the back of the car, very embarrassing it was. Obviously ready to start his jaunts again.
