Thought I'd reply, in much the same vein.
A great day was had, despite all the rain.
Old and new friends, we met with such pride,
And many a tear, we just couldn't hide.
The stories they came, so thick and so fast,
But at the end of it all, comes a love that will last.
There were cream ones' and dark ones', and all in between,
A happier crowd anywhere, will not have been seen.
And so on this note, I will linger no longer,
Our feelings for Jan, just couldn't be stronger,
Dear lady she is, a champion of Goldens',
She cares for them all, both young uns' and old uns',
All her helpers were lovely, a fine band of folk,
With a smile and a natter, and many a stroke,
God Bless you all, and long may it last,
Cos remember dear friends, a Goldie in need, is not to be passed.
And so to next year, we look forward with glee,
Our Grumpy, our Willow, our Woody, and me.

xxxxx

Lynn and Lenny

How you have made me smile and laugh. After a wonderful day yesterday, today I have come down to earth with a bump, but more of that later.

My two kids had a great day for prizes yesterday, I'll try not to brag too much, but here we go:
Gordon got 4th place in the over 10 year olds (he's 12), and also 4th place in the handsomest dog. :2094:
Codie (aka MiniMe) got 4th place in the up to 10 year olds (she's eight), and also 6th place in the waggiest tail. :2094:
MiniMe also managed a win at the chase a sausage game, although it didn't come back quite in one piece, she was still chewing it when she got back to the home line. :2094:

Haven't we got two brilliant kids!!??!! :1954: :1969

Having said all this if Willow hadn't have missed her age group, I'm sure MiniMe would have been in 5th place. I don't know how you manage to groom your babies so well Lynn, I'm ablsolutely useless at it.
It really was remarkable to see all those dogs yesterday, Jan must feel really proud to see all of them in loving homes, and all loved so much. I think I can also speak for everyone when I say how proud and priveliged I feel to have met Jan, and for the way she has matched myself and Bob to two very special dogs. You can never be sad for too long when you have a goldie in the house.

Which leads me on to today, after a morning spent catching up on my washing, I went to the rugby this afternoon as it was our last game of the season. Wigan fans will not want to hear this but I am a proud Leyther and support Leigh. Well after a magnificent win of 47 -14 against Whitehaven, the best match Leigh have played all season, unfortunately it was too little too late. Batley won against Featherstone 30 - 26, and because of that we are now relegated to Championship 1 (the lowest you can go). Oh well we can hopefully look forward to lots of wins next season, and hopefully promotion this time next year. Anyway I'll shut up now as am running out of space, and have whinged enough. Love to everyone and happy memories of yesterday :love4

As other have said, it was so nice to meet all the people and goldens in person that we feel we already know through this site and have a good :2063: . Honey certainly enjoyed her day, possibly something to do with liver cake, lots of playmates and sooooo many people around for strokes and fuss!

:love3 Thanks again to Jan and everyone who helped to give us such a great day; it was very much appreciated by those of two and four legs. I hope it raised lots to bring a brighter future to more beautiful goldens. :love4

Hello there Friends!
What a wonderful day we all had on Saturday, despite the weather. I am Samsmum, and I would like to thank all the people who submitted recipes and pictures for Sam's Golden Cookbook, and also all the good people who bought them. I brought 50 to the Fun Day and 38 were sold. I managed to sell 17 before the day out of 20, and I have more people to sell to when I get a few minutes spare.
I have tried some of the recipes out, and they are great. If you haven't tried any yet, please do, and I am sure you will enjoy them.
If you haven't had a book and would like to buy one please let me know, or contact Jan. My E-mail address:
j.alldred1@ntlworld.com or Tel: 0161-427-2180.
David will print some more off if necessary. We must keep the money coming in for Jan. Winter is the worst time for her, so cash is always welcome.
Hope you enjoyed Saturday as much as we did, and I look forward to meeting you all again
next year.
