Jas

Post by cathy22 »

Hi all, the last time I spoke to you all was back in Feb when I had to break the heartbreaking news of losing my beautiful Max to cancer. On a happier note I had a phone call from Jan not to many weeks ago which started out something like ' I have this boy here....' which was very similar to how we ended up belonging to Max! So of we trotted down to see Jan, and at this point my heart had started to lift again at the thought of having something golden and furry back in the house, because things were just not the same in our house without furry bullets greeting you when you came home from work, clothes and shoes stayed in the same place that we left them, the dyson was disowned!!! and I didnt have that little golden body looking up at me woefully when I was eating my tea, stating that he was being starved and could do with more nourishments. And as for walking, what is the point of going for a walk if you dont need to stop at every tree, post, wall, passing persons who may just have something in their pockets but a pat will suffice, no point at all.
So we arrived at Jans and we were greeted by a huge golden body who seemed absolutely delighted to have someone come to see him and we duly took him for a stroll down the lane (did I say we took him!!! silly me).
Well the formalities were soon over and as we knew we probably would, we were once again the proud owners of a 3 year old absolutely gorgeous golden, who we have called Jas after the character from Eclipse on account of he hasnt yet got the hang of being around humans without launching himself onto them...although thankfully he doesnt suck their blood...he thoroughly washes them! Jas has settled down extremely well and has made himself thoroughly at home, quickly cottoning on the the fact that beds and couches are far more comfortable than his own bed or the floor!!! Hes a little bit timid around other dogs which sometimes isnt a bad thing I suppose, at least he wont be at risk of getting got!! We have started him at obedience just to see what he can do and he quickly got upgraded as he is very good at this, hes also very clever and quickly learns anything new we ask him to do, our next step is to see if he is any good at agility, which may be comical as Ive seen this boy trip over a leaf!! So all in all everything good and I will keep you all informed about how he is doing. I will also try and get some photos up, I did look at the instructions about how to do it and came over all faint!! so I will draft my daughter in as she is good with technical things. Love to all and Jan... Thanks

:2035: Hi Cathy,
Congratulations, and a big welcome to Jas. He sounds wonderful!
Of course, it will take time for him to settle and get used to his new family, but by the sound of things, that's not to far off.

We all know how it feels to loose a golden friend, and the emptiness when they have gone, and we will always remember them. Now Jas will make your family complete again. Looking forward to some pics'.

All good wishes to you and your family, and of course, Jas :bighug:
