On our walk this morning we thought it would be lovely for Ginnie and Cobi to have a swim as it was very mild.
Ginnie has always 'hunted' for pebbles, and brings out some of the largest we have seen, but this morning she was 'hunting' about under water and brought out this lump of concrete, Cobi was 'dancing around her' whilst she was bringing it out, I just hoped that Ginnie didn't drop it on herself or Cobi, as she would have possibly broken hers or Cobi's toes.....my husband couldn't pick it up with one hand !!! he said it must have weighed well over 10kg, so at her age (12 or 13) she is still a big strong dog.
Goodness me Lynda!! she is a very strong girl. Cobi looks as pleased as Ginnie. I often think that the gentleness of this breed, belie's their strength.
Our first Golden, Leigh, used to do this, always had her head in the water pulling out stones. She had a mania for stones...full stop. We had to discourage her as she started to break her teeth and then it was a visit to the vet.
Great photos Lynda. Jazz is just the same, not much going on in the fishing line for Jazz, so he brings out boulders . Sometimes sticks are o.k. but they seem to love bringing tree trunks out. Anything that stimulates the brain on which is the best way to go about these tasks.
