Not a new subject I know but I thought that my experience might be of use.
Poppy, 14, has displacia in one hip and associated arthritis. She has been on Rimadyl 50mg palatable tablets, two a day, for the last two years. This is an expensive item from the vet but I buy them on precription online and save about 30%. On a recent visit to the vet I spoke to him about a new script and he suggested that as the Rimadyl might not now be working as effectively as they had been after two years it might be worth trying something else. To cut a long story short she's now on Trocoxil 95mg palatable and the dose is one a month. These too are an expensive item from the vet at £35 each, but I now get these online with a prescription at £22 each.
She's had two tablets so far and I can report that she now enjoys longer 'strolls', and there has been a marked improvement in her appetite. In fact, she is a lot more spritely all round.
I relate these circummstances just in case anyone else might be thinking about the subject.
That's all for now, Happy New Year to everyone.
