Hi there!
David and I went to Paris for a few days last weekend - the weather was 28oC. I like it just warm, but last weekend I thought I would melt! A friend of ours who lives in Paris e-mailed me the day after we left, to say he had just had a real drenching!! What variety we get.
Thought you might like this little poem I wrote to enter for a local Arts and Crafts Exhibition (and guess what - I won!!)
The Weather Forecaster.
I try so hard to understand
The vagaries of our weather,
But somehow nature won't comply
And I can't get things together.
It's going to rain the next two days -
Could even last a fortnight -
So one way or another,
I hope to get it right!
We might have storms tomorrow,
With thunder, lightening too,
On the other hand we might not -
The sky could still be blue!
There's snow about up in the hills,
And in the valleys low;
We could have brilliant sunshine -
I really do not know.
We had ground frost last Thursday
When I predicted showers;
I gazed around my garden -
The chill had killed my flowers.
We haven't had much sunshine
So I think we're due for some,
But please do not be too surprised
If the sunshine doesn't come4.
I thought that Spring had just arrived
As the birds burst into song,
But then we had some sleet and snow -
Again I got it wrong.
I'm sick of weather forecasts;
The whole thing is a mess;
The state of English weather
Is anybody's guess.
I couldn't get predictions right
However much I tried,
So I'm packing in this irksome job
And salvaging my pride!
It's a bit grey to-day, but maybe some sunshine this afternoon.
Hope you are all well and enjoying the company of your
lovely Goldens, as I am with Sam.
Best wishes - Samsmum (Joyce).

Re: The Weather Forecaster.
The poem is right. We could all be weather forcasters as the law of averages says we would get it right sometime. Which is what they do " Get it right sometime"
My wellies and thermals have never been put away yet. Lynn

Hi Jan,
Is it an age thing? I go out with long sleeves, fleece cardi and water proof jacket. Bound to meet a youngster in a vest t-shirt. Brrrr, don't do cold or red hot these days.
