Honestly, I can be such a dweeb sometimes.
How many times have I posted photos of a dirty, manky Bentley all covered in mud. I can't hose him down when we get home because he hates the hosepipe so it's been towels, towels, towels all the way.
This weekend we've been looking after my son's dog, Twitchy the black labrador. After coming back from a particularly mucky walk, the two of them ran onto my patio, Bentley shot off onto the field and Twitchy headed straight for the pond - and came out beautiful and clean.
What? Wait. Hang on….. BENTLEEEEEEEY!!!!
Me: Get in the pond.
Him: Nope.
Me: Get in the pond:
Him: Nuh-uh.
Me Get in the pond *throws a treat in the pond*
Him: 'Darn it. can't reach it. Nope, Not getting it.
Me: Get in the pond *Throws in another treat*
Enter stage left….Twitchy who jumps in the pond and and eats the treat. Bentley's face was a picture.
Him: DAGNABBIT!! TWITCHY GOT MY TREAT!
Me: Get in the pond.
Him: I dunno.
Me: Get in the pond *throws another treat in the pond*
Twitchy jumps in for the treat, Bentley follows.
Exit two clean dogs.
Why oh why has it taken me so long to realise I have a dog bath on my very doorstep?
Here it is next to Bentley. Right height, right size, clean, flowing water.
Two years!!!!! Ggaaaaaaaaahhh!!!!
Amazingly, he's never, ever tried to get in it, he just drinks out of it. I think he's realised now it's quite good fun. I might have a clean but permanently wet dog from now on!
Why has this taken me two years?

Yes Lesley learnt fairly quickly if ours get very mucky, always find a cleanish pond, pool ect to get them part clean before a rub down and back in car or back home.
