No, Bentley, no!

Post by bentley »

It's been a busy bank holiday weekend - and it's not over yet.

We went to the village fete. I don't think we managed to get more than three steps without people stopping us to pat the dog. They were almost forming an orderly queue! We should have put him on as one of the attractions and charged people to cuddle him. That would have raised loads for the charity.

After a hard afternoon's work he thought he'd help himself to our afternoon tea. Oh no you don't, Bentley!

Although we've had our Sophie for just over a year, it's taken me so long to get registered, but I have been visiting the forum on and off quite regularly and I'd just like to agree with everybody else - what an absolute little star is Bentley!! He's absolutely gorgeous - no wonder everyone wanted to stop and say hello to him, and I loved the previous photos of him at the beach. :love5

Rosndog: Thanks for your nice comments. I love this forum, it's a constant source of information for me.

We had a bit of a heart stopping minute at the beach today. It was very windy, Bentley loves it when it's windy. Lots of things to chase.

A leaf whipped past us at about 40 miles and hour - and he ran after it at about 40 miles and hour. Oh my God! I set off in pursuit, hollering his name while he threw me a deaf 'un. A young girl, seeing my distress, set chase after him but even she couldn't catch him. Eventually he remembered who he was with and came back ( to lots of cuddles and praise even though I was tempted to throttle him!). I nearly fainted with relief.

We've been working on the 'about turn' walk to prevent exactly this kind of thing happening but he forgot al his training today. b****y leaf!

Obviously a dog with extremely good taste! How did he restrain himself - or was that your job?!

Lesley I'm sure when you were young and your mum told you to do something, while you enjoying yourself outside , you went in the very first time she called, or maybe not. :1960 Like dogs we all have had selective hearing at times. Glad that he is alright though we do tend to panic at times I know I have been there. :thumbleft

I'll have you know, Lenny, I was the perfect child and never stepped out of line. :1968 Now as a teenager....let's not even go there!! :2029: You make a good poin though.

Joyce: Bentley does have quite good table manners. He did get to share half of my sandwiches. He didn't get a look in with the cake or scone.
